Trip to Bozeman, Montana | a family film

Exploring Bozeman, Montana | a lifestyle family film

Just in case you have not actually seen me in the past eight months or so, there is a little (not-so-little) bump growing in my belly more and more by the day. We decided to take one last trip as a family of three before the next adventure arrives. Here is a little (again not-so-little haha) video that I put together to document our trip.

Details to remember

I jokingly refer to some of my family films as the ‘grandparent’s cut’, since they often include all the moments. But I do hope you’ll stick around to see the whole video. We had a wonderful trip, and if you are ever venturing in the area, I would be happy to let you know some of our favorite spots.

We rented a little barn, which happened to be owned by the sweetest lady, ‘Ms. Val’, who baked us banana bread and won the heart of our two year old from the start (mine too). She was the best hostess. Each morning she was up early feeding the animals and chatting with our little girl. Lily was so curious about everything, but what she loved most were the barn cats - Nickie and Oreo. I think she enjoyed those two cats more than anything else on our whole vacation.

A few other highlights from our trip include Lily fly fishing with her dad (mostly just throwing rocks into the water), a return trip that we were spontaneously able to make to Yellowstone, even if just for one day, and of course all the breathtaking mountain views that just never get old.

Gear I used

For all my photogs and fellow videographers, I just got a brand new camera, the Canon 1DX Mark ii. It is incredible. By far the most sophisticated (and heaviest) camera I have ever owned. Mainly, I wanted to upgrade for the auto focus follow with video, but of course the image quality is superior to my previous Canon 5D Mark ii as well. If you are interested in learning more about some of my favorite gear and what I use on the daily, you can check all that out here.

Lifestyle Videography

Much like lifestyle photography, lifestyle video aims to capture the real moments and the real you. The power of video is that you can see the action, hear the voices, and feel the emotion with each moment. If you would like to know more about booking your own lifestyle video for you family, please feel free to contact me. I would love to chat through some ideas of how we can capture your family in an authentic way that will become a priceless keepsake.
